For liberal/progressive Democrats who know that conservatives are: bad, neanderthal, racist, sexist, islamophobic, … the challenge is real.
The challenge of continuing to look down on conservatives, on Republicans (who to them are one in the same), to view them with disdain and contempt.
Pink pussy hat wearing outraged protesters…yet…supporters, defenders, and apologists for Bill Clinton. Who ignore the numerous times over many years Biden has been creepy with young girls/women. And then there is their lack of outrage over Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, et. al.
Stephen Colbert comparing the Taliban with the Jan. 6 group…looking right at the camera and saying we have our own Taliban.
Calling Trump a dictator, a Nazi, Hitler, even worse than Hitler…yet still not showing any pictures of any bodies of those “T-Hitler” murdered. Not owning up to their own words…they have claimed they meant 1930s Hitler, not 1940s Hitler. Yet not showing any political prisoners freed on Inauguration Day, when Trump peacefully stepped out of power (like no dictator ever). No freed prisoners…no concentration camps for political prisoners…no newspapers/outlets opened up again after closure by Trump.
If you are an Independent, or are a Republican who didn’t like what the Republicans have been doing, what are you to do? According to their own mouths, the Democrats are the good ones. Yet…they do not live out their stated values.
What does a thinking person do in the face of mandates by the government, the mayor/governor, that are imposed on the people. But that they ignore?
One thing: look at their actions…compare to their stated values…and decide to believe your own lying eyes. Even if you do not support the Republicans, how can you support or believe in the Democrats?
Then listen to their contempt toward those who are not in lock step with them. And wonder…where is the basic respect for different points of view, different perspectives? And why would you support those who view you with disdain because you expect them to act out their own values?
